How can I make sticky threads in a different color?

e.g. in Red, so that important threads are seen better.

yes that would be great. or just put the word "Sticky" in front of the sticked topic-title. How to realise that?

If your sticky topics need more attention, replace the topic_sticky.gif with some other image.
That's a simple, effective and non-core-destructive solution :-)

@tentakel: Great! How did you realized that?

You can use internal parseTopic() function for getting that out.

/* displaying additional info for sticky topics */
function parseTopic(){
if($GLOBALS['cols'][7]==1) $GLOBALS['stickyText']='<strong>Sticky:</strong>&nbsp;'; else $GLOBALS['stickyText']='';
}
/* --displaying additional info for sticky topics */

insert this code in bb_plugins.php, then paste {$stickyText} into templates/main_topics_cell.html (right after {$topic_reverse} for example)

I added the code, but it doesn't work. Where must I call this function? What else must I do?

I've already described what to do and where to insert this function.

This 100% works with the latest RC5 release.

Seems that this code doesn't work with my RC4 release.

Well - yes, parseTopic() is introduced in RC5. We recommend to upgrade your version.

Team, despite I'm not programmer, can we replace, just like that, for example, the text "Sticky: " with a variable in the language pack and this way to have the word, symbol or whatever - in languages. Like this:

$l_sticky='what_you_like';

and:

/* displaying additional info for sticky topics */
function parseTopic(){
if($GLOBALS['cols'][7]==1) $GLOBALS['stickyText']='<strong>{$l_sticky}</strong>&nbsp;'; else $GLOBALS['stickyText']='';
}
/* --displaying additional info for sticky topics */

2. And also: how will be the same code for a closed topic?

3. And why don't you release this as a solution?

:)

The code for variable will be:

$GLOBALS['stickyText']="<strong>{$l_sticky}</strong>&nbsp;";

(quotes, not apostrophes)

2. Condition will be if($GLOBALS['cols'][5]==1)

3. That's too less imagination for calling it a solution.

Hi!

I tested it (for closed topics -- $GLOBALS['cols'][5]==1, $closedText='Closed:';) and it works for main_topics_cell.html ! :)

However, when I paste {$closedText} in main_last_discuss_cell.html, like this:

{$topic_reverse}{$closedText}{$topic_title} {$pageNavCell}

, the {$closedText} text doesn't show up...

Would it be possible that it shows up in the latest discussions too? Thanks,

tom

That will not work for latest discussions. Additional code changes in bb_func_ldisc.php are required.
