Ok...I got it to install but it wont let me add Forums or anything. The only viewable page is bb_admin.php

Paul

I can access the bb_admin.php but nothing else. The add forum, ban user link all work but after I try to add a forum I get a blank page. I get the same blank page when I try to go to the index.php.

Figured it out! I had to delete the $DB='mysql'; and use this line my host gave me:

$db = @mysql_connect("localhost:/home/username/chrisvestal.com/.database/mysql/mysql.sock", "root", "password");

Thanks for the help!

hi all,

i hope someone can help me, i've got a "little" problem with the setup-process. when i run _install.php i always get a "Database/configuration error." but the values for host, name, usr and pwd are definitively correct. i use the same values with my admin-tool, and they work very well. is there a way to find out what exactly the problem is?

Maybe you have mistaken typing it or something; miniBB is not the special software here, it connects to database as usual PHP program does.

I have fixed problem.
I replaced "Localhost" with the real ip address.

Hehe I just installed as well and got the same error... My mistake was not reading the instructions carefully. I blasted right through the first few paragraphs and missed the part about running the _install.php after modifying the setup_options.php.

What I did was modify the setup_options.php (after creating the database) and then tried to run the setup_mysql.php in a browser and got this error...DOH! I vote that the _install.php be renamed to something for the "I can do this without instructions" crowd like "runmebecauseidon'treadthemanual.php
