Hi,

we'd like to use the "Interests & hobbies" field to store contact data like address, mobile phone number and so on. But then this field should only be viewable by registered users rather then for everybody.

How could this be managed?

Download some add-ons based on the extra fields and see how the functions which are displaying their values on the profile page, are implemented.

You would need to implement the same function, which returns the value stored in database, but only if the condition $GLOBALS['user_id']>0 is working i.e. if the profile is visited by the registered forums member).

Also the conditon $GLOBALS['action']=='userinfo' could be used for the displaying data for profile page only.
