How can I disable anonymous posting in v1.5? I searched the forum but found information relevant to previous version.

Thanks

have a look here

or set

$allForumsReg=TRUE;
in your setup_options.php to make all forums for registered-only in one touch.

Is it possible to setup minibb so that users only can read and post if they have logged in?

Huh? I added $regUsrForums=array(3); to setup_options.php, and verified that the currently only forum I have has ID 3, but still I can read and post in this forum without having logged in.

Ha! Finally I got the sense :)
You need to setup this array not in setup_options, BUT IN bb_specials.php!

And, btw, all anonymous users still will be able to READ posts. If you want to make a fully protected forum, then you need to set up $protectWholeForum to 1 and set corresponding password in options.
