The solution for the
Mobile Version of miniBB has been updated today to have the following major improvements:
- regarding feedback from our customers, and the experience of the major WWW projects, there's now a decision
not to relocate the Mobile device automatically if it comes to the Mobile-supported forum. Instead, there will be only the "Mobile Version" link available to mobile devices by default. If this link is clicked, and if the browser closed while being in the Mobile version, next time by visiting the forum, it will open the Mobile version by default. In all other cases, the Full version of forums is opened by default.
Basically, as it appears, most of the smartphones already run a miniBB-based forum very nice, even without the extra lite templates set. Mobile version could work for those sitting on weak connections, public Wi Fi networks - anywhere, if there is needed truly speedy execution. Overall, as I think, it's not required to create an automatic redirection, as it may kill the first impression of the forum, which could have completely another look & feel.

The most important thing is to serve correct and consistent redirects, i.e. redirect to the equivalent content on the desktop or mobile site.
The current "Mobile Version" link should try to take care of this even in a Free version of this solution. I.e. while being on a certain forum page, you may click the "Mobile Version" and get redirected to the same section, but only presented in Mobile layout. Otherwise, from the Mobile version, clicking the "Full Version" should go to the same section of the page.
