There could be a way, but it requires custom programming (which is paid on our side). The algorithm is: after user signs up, PM folders / fields are automatically created; then the script uses PM sending function which "sends" a PM to this user with pre-specified text. This feature is not available in current PM module's version.

I have a proposal from one of our customers regarding this feature too, so I'll try to work on it during a week and maybe you'll be able to get another extended version of the PM addon just downloading and updating it from your customers area ;-)

If you are using mySQL module, you just need to make 'enablePemail' 1 by default.

If you are using filesbased module, it will require a bit more changes.

In addon_pmail.php find the line which says

if(file_exists($psettFile)) include($psettFile);

you need to extend it to:

if(file_exists($psettFile)) include($psettFile); else $enablePemail=1;

Then edit the file addon_pmail_funcfl.php and locate the function calculateMessages. In this function, there is only one place which declares

$enablePemail=0;

change it to:

$enablePemail=1;

I've not tested it in full but hope this will help...

You need to change it only ONCE. Somewhere 3 lines above the line which is needed to change, there is a condition if($step=='inbox'){

In the new upcoming version of PM addon there will be only one place definitely where to change it...

Very strange question...

phpMyAdmin would work only if you have private messaging add-on set up using mySQL mode. For files mode, you will need to locate PM in th defined folder locating by user's ID and message ID.

I have all pmail's file but I don't know how to install them...?
