Aspiring dancers and actors say they are "living on adrenalin" after wowing spectators in a well-liked musical. On the Regent Theater in a production of Billy Elliot, a cast of 46 performers from North Staffordshire and South Cheshire have been taking to the stage. The show put on by Stage Productions has seen crowds flocking to the Hanley venue, where an additional performance has been scheduled to cope with demand. Sneyd Green dancer Aaron Bryan, aged 12, has taken the role of Billy Elliot, says he can't get over his first big taste of fame. It has announced on Wednesday that a Toronto run of the hit London and Broadway show would begin previews at the Canon Theatre on Jan. 28, 2011 as part of the Mirvish subscription season. The cast performing in Toronto will be largely that of the first national touring company, which will close its successful run in Chicago on Jan. 18. Though, the Star has learned there is a very strong possibility that Torontonian Kate Hennig, now starring in the show on Broadway as Mrs. Wilkinson, Billy's dance teacher, will join the production when it opens here. One of the multiple Billys now playing the role in Chicago, Cesar Corrales, is a Canadian of Cuban and Mexican heritage who studied at the National Ballet School, is also expected to remain with the company. No official closing date has been announced for Toronto, but the next stop scheduled for the touring company is San Francisco in September 2011.The fans are excited to see Billy Elliot live on stage.
