I know there are a few posts on this topic in this forum (e.g. https://www.minibb.com/forums/index.php?action=vthread&forum=5&topic=1298) but none of them explain in a simple way how to use yours website's header and footer that include php code.

There was a lot simpler way of getting this to work than the above mentioned method. I actually had it working a few months ago, but then I lost some of my data and I can't remember how I did it.

So here again my question:

How can I include my existing header.inc and footer.inc files (both contain serveral lines of php code) into my forum template? I know I have to touch the bb_plugins. What simple way is there?

The description in the manual didn't really help.

You may try to look in manual for
$includeHeader
$includeFooter

and try to use them for your files setting the direct server path. Note that if you refer to variables, they must be set as $GLOBAL.
