How to prevent display of New Messaage/Reply box for unregistered users

My forum is set to allow ONLY registered users to post but I'd also like the Start New Topic/Message box sections or the Your Reply sections not to be shown AT ALL to unregistered users. IOW, I guess I'm looking to say,

if ($user_id == 0) don't show the new message or reply form.

Any help as to how I should go about this would be much appreciated.

If you want to hide a post form: Hide a posting form from guests / anonymous users

Post as a Guest, leaving the Password field blank. You could also enter a Guest name, if it's not taken by a member yet. Sign-in and post at once, or just sign-in, bypassing the message's text.

Before posting, make sure your message is compliant with forum rules; otherwise it could be locked or removed with no explanation.
