The look of the current miniBB moved far away from it's initial version, but still, it's possible to achieve it, 'cause the structure of templates, their contents (tables-based layout, not DIVs) and how they are connected to scripts didn't change since then.
Switching to the old-school layout (forums listing first, then Recent discussions — or they could not be present at all) is about just one option change in
setup_options.php — it's called $
startPageModern and it should be set to
FALSE. Then the another set of templates is taken for the front page of forums, which could be adjusted to your wishes modifying HTML in templates, and CSS file. Refer to
Manual and search in it for the name of this option.
The same affects templates from inner pages.
Please keep mind that whatever you see in our
Gallery or
Showcase, are not default or free sets of templates which were distributed earlier for free. That's all result of manual work from our users, and most always it's not about just 1-minute work...
